Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!!!!

"We can only hope and pray that Yanukovych will be positive and fair."

Run away, and hold on to your wallet, because noone knows what that means, except maybe Paul Manafort and the American advisers who teach Yanukovych and Hissing Hanna Herman to spout nonsense platitudes like that.

Yanuk is the product of a sovok political machine, propped up by silly Donbass and its mafia oligarchs.

He will be fair to silly Donbass and the oligarchs who have fed at the government trough.

Yanukovych 1) refused to debate Tymoshenko 2) stole a 400-acre estate from the government called Mezhihirya 3) aided Akhmetov in stealing drilling rights on the Black Sea Shelf through a British Virgin Island company called Vanco Prykerchenska 4) participated in vote fraud in the 2004 elections.

The list goes on.

His son sits in Parliament for no apparent reason other than he is Yanuk's son - cronyism and nepotism, anyone?

His Party of Regions physically blocked Parliament for over a year, playing rugby instead of participating in constructive sessions.

You are either delusional or sadly misinformed.

Yanuk is a Donbass thug who answers only to the oligarchs in the Party of Regions, for the sake of his own pocket and those of his cronies.

Why on earth would you expect this zebra to change his stripes now?

You really don't know what you're talking about.

Yushchenko's alliance with Yanukovych does worry me. It gives rise to serious concern. The only good thing about this current presidential circus parade is the removal of Yushchenko from office. He has been ineffective, divisive and overall destructive. His polices and actions have undermined Ukraine's economic and democratic development.

Given that Yanukovych will most certainly be elected Ukraine's next head of state on Sunday, thanks in a large part to Tymoshenko's constant negative approach, the thought that Yushchenko will still wield some influence does not instill confidence in Yanukovych either.

If Fresh parliamentary election were held last month Tigipko would have held the balance of power and would have been in a strong position to form an alliance and governing coalition with Party of Regions. support form Yushchenko's Our Ukraine will not be required.

IN the back of my mind I was hoping that maybe negotiations between Tymoshenko and Party of Regions would be rekindled and that some positive changes emerge as a result. This were looking positive back in June before Yushchenko again sought to derail the process.

Now I am not so sure. Tymoshenko will continue to hold some power and control and can still be crucial to determining the extent and direction of constitutional reform but she will not be coming form a position of strength and may not have too much say in what should be in and what should be out.

We can only hope and pray that Yanukocysh will be positive and fair., That he will place Ukraine;'s best interest ahead of his own personal pursuit for power. That he will continue to pursue a independent democratic policy of constitutional reform and that he will reject Yushchenko's proposals outright.

[...] The competition is closer than first-round results indicate. As Kyiv Post noted, as the field narrows, Tymoshenko is likely to pick up many of the so-called orange votes that went to Yuschenko and others. What might be likely to thwart her is Yuschenko himself. He’s alleged that Tymoshenko and Yanucovych are both part of a Kremlin-controlled plot. If orange voters stay home, it will mean a Yanucovych victory. Yanucovych and Yuschenko both know this – as Taras Kuzio pointed out in the Eurasia Daily Monitor. [...]
